The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership (GPREP) announced today that they are phasing out their PPE4Biz and the Essential Service Resource Program. These changes are part of moving to a Sustained Operations Model.

When the supply chains were unstable, the program provided PPE such as masks, gloves, sanitizer, and other equipment for local non-governmental organizations for free and sold them to businesses. Not many groups are reaching out to GPREP anymore for these items as they are more readily available.

They’ve also adjusted the model of the Business Ambassador Program. This program connected with over 1650 businesses in person or over the phone to help them with implement government COVID-19 protocols. Now, any business who needs support from one the ambassadors can reach them at business@gprepeoc.com.

GPREP is keeping up weekly meetings to moniter the COVID-19 situation in the region.

“Public health and safety is the priority of GPREP and we are aligned with the provincial recommendation of using masks in public areas when it’s difficult to maintain physical distancing of 2 meters at all times,” said Jennifer Wood, the GPREP Manager. “We are actively monitoring the region and will make recommendations to local elected officials based on the evolving situation.”

They are also still operating the Community Care Program which delivers to those who are in urgent need of food, medication and essential goods. More information is available HERE
