The County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service continues to actively monitor the Bearhole Lake wildfire near the community of Kelly Lake in British Columbia.

Structural protection is being provided at a few properties as a precaution otherwise there is no further threat to the public or property.

The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership (GPREP) activated an Emergency Coordination Centre yesterday to support the establishment of an evacuation Centre in Beaverlodge for evacuees from B.C. and to monitor the wildfire and plan for possible scenarios to protect the public.

The Peace River Regional District has issued an Evacuation Order for the area surrounding the community of Kelly Lake. For more information, visit the Peace River Regional District's website here.

Highway 52 is closed until further notice between Boot Lake and Red Willow. Check DriveBC for more information.

An Area Restriction Order has been expanded for the vicinity of the Bearhole Lake wildfire and now extends across to the east side of Highway 52. The size of the area restriction reflects the continued need to protect the public in areas where there are ongoing fire suppression activities. For more details click here.
