Highlighting its influential role within the City of Grande Prairie, United Way Alberta Northwest has been nominated by the Grande Prairie Public School Division (GPPSD)
for this year's Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) Friends of Education Award. The annual nomination recognizes individuals and organizations that significantly enhance education within their communities.

United Way Alberta Northwest’s focused initiatives in GPPSD schools support students' academic and social success. Their key programs include the Tools for School Program, which gives students a hand-up with necessary school supplies; the funding of psycho-educational assessments to assist high school students with developmental disabilities; the funding of school nutrition programs; and the Period Promise Program, which provides essential menstrual products enhancing school efforts to address period poverty.
