The Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools will be re-instating the masking mandate for all students, staff, and visitors at their schools starting on Monday, September 20th. The changes have been made on the district’s back to school plan.

At the regular board meeting held on Monday, September 13th, the Board of Trustees passed the motion of wearing of masks mandatory in all schools for all staff, all visitors and all students.

Students and staff may remove masks while seated or teaching in their classrooms, while outside, while eating or drinking, while participating in physical education and while participating in performing arts but will be supported should they decide to wear a mask during these times.

This will remain in effect for as long as COVID-19 is declared a pandemic, or until further notice.

As well, parents and visitors in Schools will require masking at all times. There are also no spectators during field trips, sports teams, and extra-curricular activities and community coaches will be required to wear masks.
