Grande Prairie city council has decided to postpone the decision on the Stormwater Utility Bylaw to allow for additional community consultation and further exploration of funding models, specifically: a flat rate, a bracket model, a capped rate, and an uncapped rate.

To ensure the community's feedback is collected, the City will host two open house information sessions for the purpose of providing detailed information on each of the proposed models.

Open House Session Details:

Date: February 27, 2024

Location: Teresa Sargent Hall, Montrose Cultural Centre

Times:

• Morning Session: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

• Evening Session: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

"We invite all community members to join us at the open house sessions to discuss the proposed funding models, provide their input and help shape a fair and effective solution,” said Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton.

For those unable to attend the open house sessions, feedback can be provided through the City's 3-1-1 service.

An additional method of feedback, information on the open house sessions and the funding models under consideration, will be made available on the City's website, starting February 21.
