Scottie Scheffler is celebrating his recent victory while sharing his faith with the golfing community.

On Sunday evening, the 54th Masters Champion was announced at Augusta National Golf Club. Scheffler won his fourth PGA tournament, earning him his very own Green Jacket.

Reflecting on his win, Scheffler talks about his Christian faith's influence on his life and that he plays golf to give glory to God.

"All I’m trying to do is glorify God and that’s why I’m here," says Scheffler during The Master's press conference.

On the morning of the last day, Scheffler confessed that he did not feel ready to be put in such an overwhelming position and even began doubting his ability until his wife gave him words of encouragement.

"She told me, ‘Who are you to say that you’re not ready and what’s best for your life?’"

His wife and he continued to talk about how God is in control and that he is being led to where he needs to be, saying “If today’s my time, then it’s my time.”

Scheffler took the lead on Friday and maintained it throughout the weekend.

"We [him and his caddy] did such a good job of putting ourselves in positions where we could still manage, even when I wasn’t swinging my best at times."

When asked how he keeps his competitive desire and his personal identity separate, Scheffler once again points it back to God.

"That all goes back to my faith. The reason why I play golf is because I’m trying to glorify God and all that He’s done in my life. So, for me, my identity isn’t my golf score. Like Meredith told me this morning, ‘If you win this golf tournament today, if you lose this golf tournament by 10 shots, if you never win another golf tournament again, I’m still going to love you,'" he said. "I’m still going to be the same person."

With the help of Ted Scott, his caddy, the Christian duo were ranked 15th at the beginning of the 2021/22 season and now they have finished in the top spot in the world and have accumulated a grand total of over $10 million worth of prize money.
