This Saturday, June 17th, kids all over Northern Alberta will be setting up their lemonade stands and trying their hand at running their own business.

You can help make lemonade day a success by coming out and buying some lemonade from your local young entreprenurs.

The foremost objective of lemonade day is to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society – the business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and forward thinking citizens of tomorrow.

Lemonade day was brought to Northern Alberta in 2018 by one Community Futures office and was offered to participants in their region.  Since then, Lemonade day has spread to 12 Northern Alberta Community Futures regions.

Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook or access to the "My lemonade Day' app and attends Lemonade University where Community Futures instructors teach them the lessons of Lemonade Day, like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community.

Along the way, kids acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. All while having fun and being creative.

Lemonade day kids keep all the profits they make, but the program encourages them to spend some, save some and share some.  In 2019 our Lemonade Day kids donated over $9000.00 to local charities of their choosing, in 2021 they donated over $7000.00 and in 2022 they donated over $12,000.00.
