The City of Grande Prairie is replacing four playgrounds across Grande Prairie with new and modern playground equipment, protective surfacing, and play surface borders.

The new playgrounds provide recreation, climbing, and play equipment for ages 18 months to 12 years. These amenities allow children to develop their physical literacy and social skills.

The four locations include:

  • Rotary Park, located in Smith (Rendering 1)
  • Jim Kluyt Park, located in Country Club Estates (Rendering 2)
  • Alexis Trimm Park, located in Countryside South (Rendering 3)
  • Tot Park, located in Crystal Heights (Rendering 4)

Construction began this week at Jim Kluyt Park and the Tot Park and is anticipated to last until mid-August. Construction at Rotary Park and Alexis Trimm Park is anticipated to begin in late summer. The playgrounds will be closed for the duration of construction.
