On March 18, 2023 at 1:12pm, Fort St John RCMP frontline police officers on proactive patrol, observed a white Dodge Ram that appeared to have no insurance driving on the roadway.

Frontline police officers were able to relocate the vehicle, backed into a driveway of a residence. Frontline police officers recognized the driver who was still sitting in the pickup truck.

Through investigation it was determined the driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition.

Frontline police officers also determined the license plate on the pickup truck was a wrong numbered plate, belonging to a different vehicle. The white Dodge Ram pickup truck was found to have been stolen on March 7, 2023 in Fort St John from a parking lot.  The pickup truck was seized and later returned to the rightful owner.

The driver was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and released on an Undertaking with conditions not to occupy a seat in a motor vehicle unless the registered owner was present or had written permission. The driver has a court appearance date of May 29, 2023.
