The Reverend Forbes Homestead and Pioneer Hospital is officially open for the season.

Hours of operation are Wednesday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. until September 3, 2022.

Admission and guided tours at the Forbes Homestead are free; donations are accepted and appreciated.

The Forbes Homestead is operated by the Grande Prairie Museum and is located behind the QEII Hospital (10424 96 Street).

The Reverend Forbes Homestead is a Provincial Historic Resource Site and holds the titles of Grande Prairie’s oldest home and first hospital. Visitors can view household antiques and primitive medical equipment on display.

Afternoon Teas

The Forbes Homestead is offering the annual afternoon teas throughout the summer on the following days:

  • July: 13, 14, 20 and 21
  • August: 10, 11, 17 and 18

Afternoon tea begins at 2 p.m. on each day and is held outside on the lawn. Participants have an opportunity to tour the building.

Afternoon tea costs $5 and includes a large scone (choice of plain, raisin or cheese), jam, butter and choice of tea, coffee or juice.
