Effective July 20 at 4:30 p.m., the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service has lifted Fire Restrictions for the entire County, along with the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley.

Recent precipitation in the region along with the projected weather forecast means the County can lift the fire restrictions that were put in place June 25. Residents can now apply for Fire Permits as well as Fireworks Permits.

Residents are reminded that during fire season a burn permit is required. Fire permits will once again be issued on request. Burning is not permitted when winds reach 12 km per hour or higher.

To obtain a permit or for information on safe burning practices, please call 780-532-9727 or visit www.countygp.ab.ca/fire
