On Wednesday, January 10, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the Grande Prairie Fire Department demonstrated its rapid and proficient emergency response when dispatched to a structure fire in the Mountview neighbourhood.

Two fire engines, one Ladder, one heavy rescue, and one command unit were deployed to the incident. Upon arrival, Firefighters encountered smoke and flames coming from the attached garage. Despite the challenging conditions posed by extreme cold weather, crews effectively suppressed the fire, successfully preventing its spread to adjacent properties.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident; however, multiple occupants have been displaced as a result.

The fire is currently being investigated.
