Peace Region totals:

There have now been seven COVID-19 South Africa variant cases identified and 50 of the U.K. variant.

Of the U.K. variant, 36 are directly linked to travel, six are household spread from someone who travelled, and eight haven’t been linked to travel yet. These cases are being investigated. Four of these are linked to an outbreak at a daycare. This link was just identified today, and work is underway to notify parents and staff of this facility that the outbreak at this location may be at least partially caused by a variant strain.
