A woman from the Gibbons, AB area is changing the term "drive-thru" to "ride-thru."

Stephanie Zylstra lives on an acreage north of the town, where she also owns a business training horses and teaching riding lessons.

On Thursday afternoon (Apr.16), she decided to take her main competition horse, Olsen, and her dog, Pippin, on a 45-minute ride for lunch. While some speculated over what kind of Blizzard she was getting, Zylstra opted for a burger.

"Ever since the new Dairy Queen came up in Gibbons, I've always wanted to go through a drive-thru on a horse," added Zylstra. "It's kind of one of my bucket list items."

A photo of the trio quickly circulated on Facebook, however, this isn't the first time Zylstra and one of her horses have become the talk of the town.

"We made the newspaper a few years ago going to the Canada Day block party," she said. "People get some joy out of it. I usually swing by the senior's home and wave at the seniors."

While Thursday "wasn't an ice cream kind of day" because it was too cold, Zylstra added she usually goes for the Reese Outrageous Blizzard.

Stephanie Zylstra owns Zylstra Equine Training & Coaching north of Gibbons.
