In the City of Grande Prairie, four new COVID-19 cases were reported today (May 28), and 11 people recovered. The active total is 106 with 3,715 recoveries.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, eight new cases were added, and eight people recovered. There are now 53 active cases and 1303 recoveries. 

Provincially, Alberta reported 512 new cases from 7,703 tests completed and our positivity rate is about 7.7 per cent. Right now, 8,760 cases are active in the province. With 1,245 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 214,966. 

There’s 517 people in the hospital with the virus, with 147 of these in intensive care. This is 21 fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday and three fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 52 people in the hospital with 12 of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported seven more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 2,206 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 2,668,567 vaccine doses administered, with 372,151 Albertans fully immunized with two doses.
