In Alberta today (Dec. 30), 1,287 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from 14,741 tests completed. 

Right now, 921 people are in the hospital with 152 of these in intensive care. This is 31 more hospitalizations than yesterday and one fewer ICU admission. In the North Zone, 57 people are hospitalized with four of these in intensive care. 

Deaths in Alberta are now at 1,046, with 18 new reported.  

There are currently 14,555 active cases in the province and 84,827 recoveries. There’s been 1,499 new recoveries reported since yesterday.  

In Grande Prairie, seven new cases were added along with seven recoveries from the virus. The City also had its eighth COVID-related death reported. A woman in her 90s with pre-existing condition(s) passed away on Dec 22. This was connected to the outbreak at the Mackenzie Place Continuing Care Centre.  

In the City, there are now 127 active cases and 635 recoveries.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, one person recovered, and two new cases were reported. There are now 28 active cases and 205 recoveries.
