The City of Grande Prairie is showing appreciation for registered Grande Prairie Accessible Transit (GPAT) riders in December through multiple initiatives.

Transit will be free during regular operational hours for registered GPAT riders on Friday, December 1 in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

City transit will also offer GPAT clients free round-trip rides to the Northern Spirit Lights Show, including driving through the creative light displays, at 6 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from December 1 to 17. Registered GPAT customers can sign up with their driver or by calling dispatch at 780-830-7433.

“Grande Prairie Accessible Transit is an important service encouraging connectivity and inclusivity in our community,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “Initiatives that provide free services for GPAT customers contribute to an enhanced quality of life for residents by ensuring reliable transportation, fostering social connection and encouraging community wellbeing.”
