The City of Grande Prairie is excited to invite residents to a grand opening event of the new Crystal Lake Bike Skills Park on Thursday, July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The event features a ribbon cutting, food trucks and bike skills experts to teach attendees how to use different park amenities.

Located at Lakeland Drive and 121 Avenue near Crystal Lake Park, the new amenity provides excitement for all ages and skill levels. The bike skills park is a space for all to develop their bike skills in a consistently maintained and controlled environment.

Activities within the skills park include a variety of skill-testing biking features, such as dirt jumps, pump tracks, rocks, and wooden bridges, that allow riders to learn and progress.

The Crystal Lake Bike Skills Park was partially funded by the federal government through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program: COVID-19 Resilience Stream to support active transportation, recreation, and emergency response.
