Alberta has added 643 new cases of COVID-19 today (Jan. 22), from about 13,000 tests completed, for a positivity rate of about 4.9%. 

Right now, 9,987 cases are active in the province. With 900 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 108,258. 

There’s 691 people in the hospital with the virus, with 115 of these in intensive care. This is 35 fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and four fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 72 people in the hospital with eight of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported 12 more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,512 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 97,785 vaccine doses administered.  

In the City of Grande Prairie, 23 new cases were added, and 5 people recovered. Another person has died in connection to the outbreak at Prairie Lakes Supportive Living, a woman in her 90s. The active total is 195 with 876 recoveries and 15 deaths. 

In the County of Grande Prairie, three cases were added, and two people recovered. There’s now 54 active cases and 266 recoveries.
