AHS North Zone assures residents that, “QEII remains a safe place to receive care – there is no increased risk to patients coming to the hospital. Any patient with symptoms, or who has tested positive for COVID-19, is isolated and treated in designated rooms.”
The unit affected is being limited to essential visitors for end-of-life or other extenuating circumstances.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, AHS North Zone also confirmed an outbreak at the Fairview Health Complex (FHC), after three healthcare workers tested positive for COVID-19. They say an additional case in a patient is being investigated and contract tracing is underway.

Visits to this unit are also being limited to essential visitors only.
AHS North Zone says that the FHC as well remains a safe place to come for care, and patients in the hospital are still receiving the care they need as well. Anyone who tests positive will be isolated and treated in designated rooms.
