Alberta Health has confirmed a COVID-19 outbreak at Victory Church in Grande Prairie.

The date of the first case is unknown, but the outbreak was officially declared on Oct. 28. As of Friday, Oct. 30, there were 15 cases connected, with 11 active and four recoveries. COVID-19 numbers will not be updated again until tomorrow as the system is being upgraded.

In a Facebook update on Oct. 19, Pastor Charlotte Quist announced that they had had three cases of the virus confirmed. At that point, they had not been contacted by Alberta Health Services and they did not believe the cases were connected. Testing was related to the individuals needing to be tested for work.

In her announcement, Pastor Charlotte also said they would be suspending in-person gatherings for 12 days – until the end of the month, meeting in-person again on Nov. 1. She said they would continue to sanitize the church and do a deeper clean.

The church did meet in person yesterday, Nov. 1, and streamed online.

As for the other outbreaks in the City, Walmart has had 11 active cases, and all have recovered. The RCMP Detachment has had 15 cases, with 3 active and 12 recoveries.
