Northern Health Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the North Peace Seniors Housing Society apartments in Fort St. John, BC. There are currently 6 confirmed cases among apartment residents.

All residents of the apartment complex are being asked to take extra precautions, including reducing visitors and social interactions. People at risk have been asked to self-isolate in their apartments. Common rooms have been closed. Increased environmental cleaning is being performed throughout the complex.

All apartment residents are being asked to self-monitor for symptoms as well as limit visitors, cautiously adhere to mask-wearing in public areas in the buildings and hallways, and reduce movement and interactions with others.

Northern Health and the North Peace Seniors Housing Society are working closely together to ensure enhanced control measures are followed, to protect the health of all residents and staff involved. Residents are encouraged to call their family doctor or the COVID-19 Online Clinic and Info Line/Virtual Clinic at 1-844-645-7811 if feeling at all unwell or demonstrating any symptoms of COVID-19.
