The Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) announced over the weekend that there has been a positive COVID-19 case found in an individual from Peace Wapiti Academy (PWA).  

Administration at GPPSD were notified Saturday (Oct. 24) by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and a letter was sent to all PWA families and posted online.  

The school is still open for in-person learning, and necessary measures are being taken to prevent spread to staff and students. A deep clean of the school happened over the weekend to prepare for school today. Anyone who has not been contacted as a close contact will still be able to attend school in-person. 

To respect their privacy, the person’s name won’t be released. AHS is following up with close contacts directly
