County of Grande Prairie residential snow removal crews will finish clearing in Hythe today (Dec 29) and move onto La Glace tomorrow (Dec 30). In the East, crews will finish Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village subdivisions tomorrow (Dec 30) and move onto Clairmont between 100 Ave and 116 Ave starting Tuesday, January 3. Wedgewood, Taylor Estates, and Maple Ridge subdivisions will follow (the order of which is to be determined).

Residents are reminded to watch the digital “No Parking” signs when entering select residential areas in the County, including the Hamlets of Hythe and La Glace, the subdivisions of Wedgewood, Maple Ridge, and Taylor Estates, as well as Whispering Ridge, Westlake Village, and 116 Ave to 100 Ave in the Hamlet of Clairmont. When the signs are lit, temporary parking restrictions are in place and street parking is not permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Vehicles left on the street when a parking restriction is in place may be ticketed and/or towed. Residents are reminded that piling snow onto roadways is illegal and could result in a $100 fine, as it slows the snow clearing process and creates a traffic safety hazard.

As crews make progress clearing in these residential areas and new temporary parking restrictions are put in place, updates will be emailed to webpage subscribers and appear on the interactive web map.

This residential snow removal process including temporary parking restrictions is in place in neighbourhoods or communities with a concrete curb and gutter, and street parking. Snow removal in rural areas, and other County subdivisions with ditches along the road like Carriage Land and Goldenrod Estates, are on a separate schedule.
