Just before 9:00 a.m. this morning, County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service crews from the Beaverlodge, Hythe and Wembley stations responded to an unoccupied mobile home fire near Range Road 105 and Township Road 702 in the Hinton Trail area.

Upon arrival, crews found the mobile home fully engulfed, and the fire had spread to an adjacent occupied residence.

Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire at the occupied residence. An additional water tender was requested as mutual aid from the Horse Lake First Nation Fire Department.

Crews remain on scene to extinguish the mobile home fire. Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area to allow firefighters to complete their work.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the County Fire Marshal.

The response involved dispatching two new pump-rated tenders from the Wembley and Hythe fire stations. Put into service last week, the new tenders assisted in the initial attack with their ability to immediately pump additional water to the County fire engine upon arrival. Thanks to the generous support of County Council, County Regional Fire Service now has seven pump-rated water tenders in its fleet.
