Applications are being accepted until March 20 for the next training session for paid responders to serve at the County’s La Glace firehall.

Professional firefighting training is free and is recognized across North America. Paid responders are a trained team of women and men from all walks of life that provide fire and rescue services in and around their community.

District Fire Chief Dale Widsten said that the role is very rewarding.

“You’re part of a team, you learn new skills, and you make a real difference in your community,” said Widsten. “No experience is necessary, and we offer lots of flexibility, so we’re willing to work around people’s abilities and schedules.”

All La Glace firefighters must live within 15 minutes from the La Glace Fire Station. T
