Properties up for re-inspection in the current calendar year will start receiving letters as part of the County’s annual re-inspection process to ensure assessments are fair and accurate. If we have received no response, a secondary RFI/reminder letter will be mailed out in March.

The letters, also known as Requests for Information (RFI), will be delivered to households due for re-inspection to allow residents to self-report any changes to their property. County Assessors will be focusing on Township/Range Roads 70- 5, 70-6, 71-5, 71-6, and 72-5 – an area around the City of Grande Prairie – and the Town of Sexsmith as indicated on the map below. Please note the Town of Sexsmith property owners will not receive their letters till early spring.

Chris Gardner, Chief Assessor for the County of Grande Prairie, noted that the Request for Information is straightforward and user-friendly. “Embracing a proactive strategy has effectively streamlined the process for both residents and staff, ensuring comprehensive information is gathered before assessors head to properties.”

Residents who receive a letter can provide property information to the County of Grande Prairie through the following options:

  • Complete the online form using the link provided in the letter.
  • Complete and mail the questionnaire back to the County in the provided envelope.
  • Scan your completed questionnaire and email it to assmtrfi@countygp.ab.ca.
  • Contact the Assessment department at 780-513-3952 to complete the questionnaire over the phone.

This is the fourth year that the County has used RFIs to gather information. The re-inspection cycle will officially begin on March 1 and continue until about July 1.

County assessors will continue with in-person inspections to verify that the assessment information on file is up to date, and for non-residential properties.
