As the County of Grande Prairie limits public access to facilities in support of social distancing recommendations, community members are encouraged to access services online or by phone.

Following the guidelines announced by Alberta Health Services (AHS) to prevent the spread of COVID19, the County has closed its facilities to the public, with the only exception being the Administration Building located at 10001 84 Avenue in Clairmont.

Providing municipal services remains a priority of the County, and efforts are being made to continue operations as seamlessly as possible. Residents, businesses and other stakeholders are encouraged to do business with the County by visiting countygp.ab.ca. Those with limited access or questions about online services can contact 780-532-9722.

While the risk to residents remains low, the County is continually monitoring taking precautionary measures to help prevent community staff, and to protect the public and staff. Individuals with flu-like symptoms or have travelled abroad over the last 14 days are asked to avoid the building, and to follow the guidelines set out by AHS at www.alberta.ca/covid19.

The Recreation Advisory Board Meeting scheduled for March 19 has been cancelled, to be rescheduled in the future. A Special Council Meeting is being held on Thursday, March 19 at 2 p.m. to discuss business continuity to ensure as little disruption as possible to essential operations and services during the County’s response to COVID-19.
