On Monday, September 19, the County of Grande Prairie will join the province in a moment of silence to honour Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“This is an opportunity for everyone in the County to share in the collective grief and pay their respects to the longest serving monarch in history,” said Reeve Leanne Beaupre.

The moment of silence will take place at 10 a.m. to coincide with the provincial ceremony and all staff have been encouraged to pause to honour Her late Majesty.

All County facilities will remain open during this time and members of the public who are visiting a facility are encouraged to join staff in respecting the moment of silence.

The Province has set up a webpage with the location of condolence books in the province, as well as a link to online condolences, and information about the provincial ceremony.
