The County of Grande Prairie is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention Week (FPW) October 9-15 with events planned at County fire stations and partner departments throughout the week.

This year’s theme, “Fire won’t wait. Plan Your Escape,” focuses on educating the public about simple actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires.

County Regional Fire Service invites the public to join firefighters and County staff at a Fire Prevention open house event in their local community, to visit with local firefighters, tour the station, and learn more about fire prevention and how to create an escape plan from their home in the event of a fire.
