Assessors will begin conducting property re-inspections in selected areas of the County on Friday, March 15, until further notice.

County Assessors will be travelling door-to-door visiting properties within Ranges 5, 6, and 7 of Township 70, 71, and 72, excluding the hamlet of Clairmont. A map showing the specific areas where Assessors will be working is attached for reference.

“The information collected by our Assessors during a re-inspection allows the County to keep its records up-to date,” explained Dawn Sauvé, Director of Corporate Services. “The County evaluates properties annually to determine their estimated market value, which is used to calculate property taxes.”

Property inspection is a standard policy put in place by the provincial government that requires all Alberta municipalities perform ongoing re-inspections and complete overall inspections of all properties in a five-year term.

County assessors will be wearing photo identification badges. If residents are not home, assessors may leave a door hangar with information to contact the Assessment department. Assessors may take exterior photographs as part of the assessment process. If you have any questions, please contact the County Assessment department at 780-532-9722.

All information collected during a re-inspection is subject to the Freedom of Information and Privacy of Protection Act.
