Friday, June 18, construction begins on 108 Street between 100 Avenue and the Bear Creek bridges. Crews will start north of the 108 Street and 100 Avenue intersection and will then make their way north, working on both north and southbound lanes.

Construction activities include an asphalt milling and overlay, spot concrete work, catch basin and manhole repairs, partial storm lead replacements and thermo-plastic line painting.

Drivers can expect single lane, alternating traffic and are reminded to drive with caution, obey all posted signage and follow the direction of flag persons if present. There will be very minimal impact to pedestrian traffic at the intersections along 108 Street.

Construction is anticipated to be complete by mid-July. The City appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during this construction season.

Background Information

Asphalt overlay is a method used to prolong current infrastructure showing cracks and potholes, while still not being damaged enough to warrant a full rehabilitation.
