The community is invited to a drop-in consultation session about the City’s 2020 Budget on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

The session takes place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre, near the food court.

At the session, residents may learn about the City’s budget process and key services provided by the City through three different activities, each helping City administration and City Council determine the services most valued by residents.

First, attendees are asked to reflect on their experience in Grande Prairie and share their vision for the future through a series of questions. An example question is: “What is your favourite thing about living in Grande Prairie?”

Second, attendees can view displays from several City departments to learn about the variety of key services offered under each department. City staff from the departments will be present to connect with residents and respond to enquiries about the services offered. There will be a display specific to the City’s budgeting process, demonstrating the different steps undertaken to develop the budget.

Lastly, attendees have the opportunity to share the City services they most value. The services will be grouped and displayed for all attendees to view.

Members of City Council will be present and participating at the consultation.

The event is open to all members of the community, of all ages and experience levels. The City of Grande Prairie looks forward to engaging with residents on the future of Grande Prairie.
