Members of the community who donated bricks personalized with a family or business name to support plaza construction of the Canada Games Arena (now known as the H.A. Rice Plaza at Revolution Place) are now being invited to claim the original bricks as commemorative pieces. Renovations to the plaza completed in 2017 and included removing aging exterior materials and resurfacing the plaza. The commemorative bricks endured over 20 years of Grande Prairie weather, with the majority still in tact but not suitable for continued use. The bricks will be available for pick-up from Tuesday, August 14 to Thursday, August 16 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.in the Bowes Event Centre at Revolution Place. Identification is not required to claim a brick and friends or family members can claim on donors’ behalf. Any bricks not claimed will be disposed of.

Past donors interested in retrieving their brick can contact the Revolution Place box office at 780-538-0387 for more information. Revolution Place would like to thank all of the original donors for their contributions in helping the facility continue to expand to serve our growing community. Details on a permanent display to continue to acknowledge and commemorate the generous individuals who made the Canada Games Arena possible through their donations will be announced at a future date.
