The Annual City Scrub is taking place this week and wraps up May 8, with the City of Grande Prairie encouraging residents to participate independently rather than in teams for 2020.

The City Scrub is a community clean-up that occurs each spring. The goal of the initiative is to pick-up garbage and litter that has collected over the winter months.

This year, in lieu of registering teams for specific locations, residents interested in participating in City Scrub are encouraged to clean up garbage within parks or within their own neighbourhoods using their own supplies (gloves, pickers and garbage bags).

Residents whose bags do not fit in their curbside cart may request a bag tag.

When participating, residents are reminded to abide by the provincial guidelines for physical distancing outlined at alberta.ca/covid19.

For more information and to register for a bag tag, visit cityofgp.com/cityscrub or contact cityscrub@cityofgp.com or 780-538-0300 for specific questions.

The City thanks all residents for helping do their part to keep the community clean.
