Of the 1,107 active cases in Alberta, the City of Edmonton now has over half of them at 631. 

That means the entire city has now been placed under a COVID-19 watch. Edmonton now has 55.9 cases for every 100,000 people living in the city. The criteria for a watch is 50 active cases per 100,000 population.  

82 new cases of the novel coronavirus were identified in Alberta yesterday (Aug. 19) but the total number of active cases in the province fell by 62 from Tuesday.
