8 awards were presented to 24 individuals at the Grande Prairie Fire Department’s Annual Awards and Medal Presentation on March 8 in Council Chambers.

The awards recognize long-service to firefighting, and outstanding contributions to fire services.

“We have an incredible team who have committed their lives to keeping our community safe,” said Preben Bossen, Grande Prairie Fire Chief. “It is important to us to take time to recognize their efforts and dedication to fire services.”

MLA Wayne Drysdale and MLA Todd Loewen were in attendance to present the provincial awards. Mayor Given was also in attendance and recognized the important role of fire services within the City during his remarks.
