The Chuckegg Creek fire is Under Control at 350, 134 hectares. There are 120 firefighters and support staff, 6 helicopters and 3 pieces of heavy equipment fighting this wildfire.
Although the Chuckegg Creek wildfire is listed as Under Control, this doesn't mean the operation is over. Scanning operations continue to identify hot spots. Crews are working hard to put out all identified hot spots and ensure there is no threat to the established line. Crews are working hot spots along highway 58.
Alberta Wildfire also shared yesterday that they are heading to Alaska to help with firefighting efforts there. Alberta received aid from firefighters all over the world to help with the fires this season, including the United States.
As cooler conditions continue in most parts of Alberta, 3 airtankers, 1 birddog and 1 Air Attack Officer will be traveling to Alaska today to assist in their firefighting efforts. Best of luck to everyone involved!#ABwildfire @BLMAlaska pic.twitter.com/jj6xbU92G7
