This Sunday, Grande Prairie will be celebrating the Christmas season with events for the whole family.

The annual Christmas Parade starts at 4:00 p.m. on 100 Avenue and 102 Street. The parade route travels east to 100 Street and south to 99 Avenue, ending at Revolution Place.

Festivities continue at Revolution Place after the parade with live outdoor music, the Grande Prairie Storm handing out cookies and hot chocolate, and the official tree lighting by Mayor Bill Given at 5:30 p.m.

Warm up inside the Bowes Events Centre after by watching The Grinch on the big screen or getting your free photos taken with Santa Claus.

After the parade and tree lighting will be the City's first annual “Battle of the Badges” charity hockey game between our local Police and Fire departments in support of the Talk to Me Society and the 3D Children’s Charity.

The puck drops at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available by donation at revolutionplace.com.

The City of Grande Prairie and the DownTown Association welcome everyone in the community to join in these events and be part of the community tradition.
