The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce presents the 2023 State of the Region on Friday, October 6 in partnership with the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie and Municipal District of Greenview.

The hybrid event will feature Chamber of Commerce Chair Cindy Park in conversation with City Mayor Jackie Clayton, County Reeve Bob Marshall and Greenview Reeve Tyler Olsen.

“Our Chamber is pleased to partner with each of our local municipalities, and we look forward to hearing from all three as they provide a snapshot of their respective initiatives in economy/economic development, community, wildfire response and recovery, advocacy, and intermunicipal collaboration,” shared Chamber Chair Cindy Park.

This is the third “State of the Region” hosted by the Chamber, and once again participants will be able to attend in person or view online via Zoom.

“The State of the Region is a significant annual event for our regional leaders to recap accomplishments and present their vision and focus for the upcoming year. We are thankful for the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce for hosting once again, and look forward to joining our counterparts from the County of Grande Prairie and M.D. of Greenview for this opportunity,” stated Mayor Jackie Clayton.

Doors will open at 11:00 AM on October 6 at the Montrose Cultural Centre in the Teresa Sargent Hall, with a buffet lunch at 11:30 AM, and program beginning at 12:00 PM followed by a moderated question and answer period. Online viewers will be able to join the call beginning at 11:45 AM.

“Our region is a key contributor to Alberta’s economy and our residents enjoy an exceptional quality of life in close-knit communities with all the benefits of a larger centre,” said County of Grande Prairie Reeve Bob Marshall. “I look forward to joining with my municipal counterparts from the City of Grande Prairie and the M.D. of Greenview to provide an update on our individual and collaborative efforts and future vision to ensure long-term prosperity for our region.”

The cost to attend in person is $45 + GST for Chamber Members and $55 + GST for future members, while the price to participate virtually via Zoom is $20 for Chamber Members and $25 for future members.

The deadline for in-person registration is October 3, 2023 and for virtual attendees October 4, 2023. Tickets can be purchased on the Chamber website at https://www.grandeprairiechamber.com/
