The NHL has yet to decided on their hub cities for its return to play and those Canadian cities in the mix are waiting to hear back from the federal government.

The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and Toronto Maple Leafs are all eagerly waiting to hear back from the federal government on if there will be any alterations to Canada's current 14-day quarantine rule.

The desired good news coming from the federal government is an alteration to the 14-day rule that would add the team's facilities as a part of their "quarantine zone" allowing players to quarantine while still getting back into playing shape.

As of now, anyone entering Canada, regardless of condition, is required to enter a 14-day quarantine which has forced players to debate returning to their playing cities and caused some teams to think about the location of their training camp.

Teams, including those outside of hub-city contention, have had to consider hosting their training camp in the U.S. to avoid the 14-day lockdown on returning players.

The Canadian teams were expecting to hear from the federal government last week however have yet to hear anything.

The NHL has made it clear that they are hoping to have one of their hub cities as a Canadian city however the 14-day rule has created a serious hurdle for the league
