COVID-19 has caused a surge in online shopping.

It comes as no surprise that virtual shopping has become more popular throughout the pandemic and, with Christmas around the corner, Canada Post has been busier than ever.

They have seen a record number of parcels and are asking that people get their orders in as soon as possible to ensure a timely delivery. New holiday shipping deadlines were released, which show when you need to get your package in for it to reach its destination before Dec. 25.

Packages for a local address need to be in before Friday (Dec. 18). Regional parcel deadlines range from Dec. 14 to Dec. 18. If you are sending a package with a national destination, the deadlines range from Dec. 15 to Dec. 18.

While Canada Post has hired over 4,000 seasonal employees and added around 1,000 vehicles, the company is reminding everyone that – due to high volume and the COVID-19 pandemic – packages could still be delayed.
