The Breakfast with the Guys Planning Committee is proud to announce Ron Regnier as an Ambassador for the 10th Anniversary Breakfast with the Guys event, held at GPRC on November 13, 2018 at 6:45 a.m.

Breakfast with the Guys is a free community breakfast with a call to action for men and boys to learn how to challenge deeply rooted perceptions of masculinity and how to speak up about violence against women. All genders are welcome to attend.

Regnier leads 170 staff members as the general manager of the local Canadian Tire. He is the father of an 11-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son, a community volunteer, and a well-known lacrosse coach.

“I was honored to be asked to be the community ambassador for Breakfast with the Guys 2018,” said Regnier. “It is important to me to be part of the call to action to speak up against violence against woman and help shape what ‘normal’ is to our young men and women.”

Regnier learned about Breakfast with the Guys by attending previous events and by participating in a community workshop called Leading Change. The workshop teaches the community about gender-based violence and what actions lead to its end.

Regnier also implemented a program created by the Odyssey House titled “Domestic Violence: It’s Your Business” to the local Canadian Tire. The program offers an awareness and education opportunity to help businesses understand the responsibilities of a company, how to implement effective company policy around domestic violence, and navigate situations of domestic violence when an employee comes forward.
