Albertans will have to wait few more weeks before non-essential travel is opened up in British Columbia.

The BC Government announced yesterday that they will be allowing travel within the province, but are still advising those from outside provinces such as Alberta to not travel to BC until Step 3 of their reopening plan.

The earliest target start date for Step 3 is July 1, and Sept. 7 for Step 4.

“Our advice to other Canadians is we are going to welcome you down the road, but not today. If you don’t have business in British Columbia it is our preference that you stay where you are. We will invite you back at the appropriate time when all British Columbians are prepared to welcome you,” explained Premier John Horgan. “If you don’t have business here that is essential to your well-being, then please stay where you are until we get to stage three and we can have a fair discussion about that.”
