On June 2, B.C. reported that 71.1% of all adults in B.C. and 68% of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.  

In total, 3,365,286 doses have been administered in B.C., 208,145 of which are second doses. 

B.C. is currently in Step 1 of their restart plan. Step 2 could start as early as June 15. The criteria for moving to Step 2 is at least 65% of the 18+ population vaccinated with dose 1, along with declining case counts and COVID-19 hospitalizations.   

Step two will include increasing the maximum for personal outdoor gatherings to 50 people, indoor seated gatherings to 50, the lifting on provincial travel restrictions and some easing of restrictions in workplaces and for sports and exercise.

There were 194 new cases of COVID-19 reported from 6,862 tests completed. There are 2,662 active cases in the province and 140,238 recoveries.  

Of the active cases, 246 people are hospitalized with 70 of these in intensive care. Four new COVID-19 related deaths were reported, for a total of 1,707. 

In the Northern Health region, four new cases were added from 136 tests. Over the previous week, May 23 to 29, Peace River North added 43 new cases and Peace River South added eight.
