Yesterday, B.C.’s daily COVID-19 report showed 34 new cases in the province, bringing the total to 2087. Of these, 1305 people have recovered. 

Confirmed cases by region: 

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 811 
  • Fraser Health: 941 
  • Island Health: 120 
  • Interior Health: 169 
  • Northern Health: 46 

There are 89 people in the hospital, with 35 in intensive care.  

Twenty-one long-term care and assisted-living homes are currently affected. B.C. has three acute-care unit outbreaks. 

There have been 109 COVID-19 related deaths; four of these were reported yesterday.  

In their joint statement, Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, and Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.'s provincial health officer encourage British Columbians to keep persevering.  

“We must remember that every day we commit to doing all we can to flatten the COVID-19 curve is one day more that we are keeping our communities, health-care workers, Elders and loved ones safe. 

“The public health measures we have today are hard on all of us, and we want to thank you for the immense efforts you continue to make. 

“Our province has been shaken by this storm, but British Columbians have shown us that our foundation remains strong.”
