On Jan. 20, B.C. reported 500 new cases of COVID-19 from 10,437 tests, for an active total of 4,345, with 55,564 recoveries.  

Right now, 320 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 66 of these in intensive care. There’s been 14 more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,104 since the start of the pandemic.  

To date, 98,125 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C. Daily immunization data, including information on each health authority, is available online from The BC Centre for Disease Control.  

Of the new cases, 35 were in the Northern Health Region from 193 tests completed. The area has 501 active cases with 54 total deaths and 2,402 recoveries. Right now, 39 are hospitalized with 17 in critical care.  

On Wednesdays, the province releases a map of geographic distribution of COVID-19 by local health area of case residence for the previous Sunday to Saturday. For Jan. 10 to 16, Peace River North had 37 new cases and Peace River South had eight.
