Aquatera has announced temporary changes to their Infrastructure Charge Policy, allowing new multifamily developments to connect to their infrastructure without paying infrastructure charges.

Vaughn Bend, Aquatera’s CEO, states that this decision aims to boost economic development, foster sustainable growth, and support affordable housing in the region. The infrastructure charge, established in 2005, helps cover the costs of water and wastewater infrastructure for community expansion.

Starting immediately, Aquatera is offering a two-year relief on infrastructure charges for new multifamily developments in the Grande Prairie region, applicable to applications received between February 15, 2024, and December 31, 2025. Multifamily residences like apartment buildings, duplexes, and condominiums are eligible. However, the water meter fee remains in place to cover the installation costs of appropriately sized meters.

Aquatera encourages collaboration with developers, builders, and stakeholders to contribute to the community's growth and prosperity.
