Applications are now open for  businesses to apply for the Sidewalk Patio Program.

The Sidewalk Patio Program is a new initiative that enables local businesses to expand their outdoor dining and seating areas onto public sidewalks and roadways, thereby creating lively communal spaces that encourage social interaction and foster a sense of community. 

It is designed to invigorate the downtown core, promote economic growth, and enhance civic pride, supporting Council’s Strategic Priorities of Quality of Life and Innovative Efficiencies & Economic Readiness. 

Application Information

Local businesses interested in participating can now find specific information, application details, and the necessary form on the City's webpage. To access this information, visit cityofgp.com/sidewalk-patio-program.

Restaurants, bars, and cafes with a valid business licence and compliance with AGLC standards are welcome to participate in this program. Businesses may choose from four options provided and create a lively outdoor space for your customers:

  • Option 1: Small Sidewalk Patio
  • Option 2: Parklet Patio
  • Option 3: Full Sidewalk Patio with Re-Routed Sidewalk
  • Option 4: Partial Sidewalk Patio (no boardwalk sidewalk)
