Amy Grant is being inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The winner of six Grammy awards, Grant was given the honour this past Monday at an in-person event.

The classes of 2020 and 2021 were officially honoured as they were unable to do an in-person event last year due to the pandemic. The Hall of Fame Gala took place at the Music City Centre in Nashville.

According to The Christian Beat, Grant's husband Vince Gill performed her song 'Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song)' at the event to honour her.

Rhett Akins, Buddy Cannon, John Scott Sherrill, and Toby Keith were the other recipients inducted from the class of 2021, which meant Grant was the only female songwriter being honoured.

Grant, the Christian artist whose songs span over the past four decades, has yet to comment about her thoughts about the award on social media.

In 2003 Grant was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

She is currently finishing up a 42 show tour. In December Grant will perform a few Christmas shows with her longtime friend Michael W. Smith before her and Gill’s annual Christmas at the Ryman Residency.
